A stylish and handy selection for lunches on the grass or the river banks.

Checked cloths

We love the new Vichy collection by the Lyonnais brand Les Pensionnaires, which is a perfect fit for summer feasts and stylish picnics. Made in Portugal with linen and cotton. €135.

A taste of the south

Watch out Provence, because the Lyon-based Chai Saint Olive is releasing its very first rosé wine this summer. All that’s missing is the sound of the cicadas to feel like you’re there already. Organic Gamay Rosé, €9.90.

Tiny but powerful

Are you tempted by a “musical siesta” (see page XXX)? Check out the portable speaker Kreafunk aGo we found at Blitz. Just listening to it, it’s hard to believe it only measures eight centimetres. As if that wasn’t enough, it comes in a range of very elegant colours.
Kreafunk aGo speaker, €45.

 All-in-one

As all good gatherers, ramblers and picnickers know, there is nothing like a versatile pocket knife to cut saucissons and Bergerons (see page XX), and even uncork a bottle to accompany them. Our favourite is the Opinel N°10 with corkscrew, €25.

Camping leader

Founded in Lyon in 1999, Huttopia is a French camping pioneer. Just over a year ago, it opened its very first camping store in Lyon’s Presqu'île district. There, you will find a travel agency, a book shop, a café and a camping equipment store. There, you will find an excellent selection of outdoor brands, from well-known French names like Opinel and Grand Tetras (see p. X), to international specialists that have yet to establish a strong presence in France (such as the Japanese brand Snow Peak and the American brand Barebones Living). You’ll find plenty of cool new things to show off at your next picnic!
