In Lyon, autumn is the season for street markets, which get livelier and more numerous each year. Lille is looking over its shoulder!

Lyon Braderie Festival

More than just a street market, this is a fully fledged festival, with six main locations scattered throughout the Presqu’île district: the Village des Créateurs on Place Sathonay, with street food, DJ sets and playlists in the evening; tables and deck chairs set up on Place de la République; a green oasis on Place des Jacobins; games and workshops for families at the Grand Hôtel-Dieu; culinary demonstrations and tastings on Place Ampère; a fashion show, wardrobe clear-out and art performances in Confluence, and more… All of the locations are turned into pedestrian areas specially for the event.

From Friday 13 to Sunday 15 September 2023

Grande braderie de la Croix-Rousse

This is a local institution! Going back more than 50 years now, this event brings together some 200 exhibitors, including stands run by shops in the Croix-Rousse neighbourhood, roaming merchants and food trucks, attracting curious visitors from all over the Lyon urban area. The programme also includes an arts and crafts market, on Place de la Croix-Rousse, live music, tastings, street art and engaged stands.

Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September 2023

Grande braderie des Gratte-Ciel

Clothes, accessories, cosmetics, food… On the 16th of September, Villeurbanne’s shopkeepers clear out their stock for the autumn. The day also includes entertainment, with street performances, workshops for children and street food.

Braderie d’Oullins (Les Automnales)

Les Automnales is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a host of live music, dance demonstrations, sports, music and more. Workshops for children, an arts & crafts village, second-hand clothes racks and 120 stands will turn the Grande-Rue into a hive of activity. You will find a wide selection of things to buy, including ready-to-wear fashion, leather goods, beauty products, shoes, sportswear and decorative objects.
