Summer Sessions

Celebrate music

Villeurbanne is the place to be with the return of the Summer Sessions, offering outdoor live music and fun gatherings. With an open-air summer party vibe, the three evenings will be held at Le Transbordeur, which will be given a fresh look for the occasion. In terms of the line-up, it gets underway on Thursday with acts like the indy rock band Flat White Family from London. On Friday, there will be a DJ set by The Hacker and electronic music from the Lyon based trio LOVATARAXX. It will come to a close on Saturday with a big party under the stars to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the label Nowadays Records. A fantastic way to end the season at Le Transbordeur!

Intérieur Queer

Seven colors, like the rainbow

Now in its 7th year, Intérieur Queer is returning to Lyon from 11 to 14 July. It will be held in venues around the city including Heat, Le Transbordeur, Le Sucre, Café Rosa, Livestation DIY, and many others. In charge of proceedings, Arty Farty and Plusbellelanuit promise some wild nights and equally fun days. On the programme: debates on gender representations and sexual identity; fiery performances and DJ sets. The collectives With Us and Le Consœurtium have been given a carte blanche, and we’re looking forward to an electrifying Drag Rendez-vous, as well as the now cult Voguing Ball. The festival will close on 14 July at Le Sucre with Swedish DJ-producer SPFDJ, offering an ode to diversity and love. For-a-fee events will be interspersed with free events. A pass to access the three for-a-fee events and skip queues is available for €55.

Entre Rhône et Saône

In great waters

The festival Entre Rhône et Saône is returning for three days of fun and strolling along the banks of Lyon’s two rivers. Festivities will commence on Friday evening with a giant picnic and the revived Mâchecroute (a legendary dragon) on the banks near Guillotière, before the carnivalesque Grand Parade on Saturday, starting at Place des Terreaux. On Sunday, the weekend’s grand finale will be an open-air performance by DJ Folamour at the Parc des Berges du Rhône in Gerland. As if that wasn’t enough, there’ll be food and dancing with guinguettes held each day along the banks, by Guillotière, Confluence and Île Barbe. Get ready for a dizzying programme of more than 300 attractions, including shows, live music, sport, conferences, workshops and walks!
