Lyon Opera, behind the scenes

Organised by the Lyon Opera, the mini-festival ‘Franchir les portes’ will invite the public to watch a rehearsal of The Marriage of Figaro, for free, and attend a conference-debate on the opening day, on the 4th of March.

This will be followed, from the 17th of March to the 4th of April, by a series of three works: The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, an opera written in 1786, which remains highly relevant to today’s politics and society, asking questions about the role of women;
Bluebeard's Castle, the only opera written by Bartók, which explores the depths of the soul, fatal love, the quest for truth and disobedience;
Bluthaus (the house of crime), a contemporary musical drama by Haas, never before performed in France, which will be accompanied by two of Monteverdi’s madrigals, where dark family secrets are revealed during the sale of a house…
